This includes copy and paste and copy and word-change around.
How do you make it your own words (paraphrase)? Read the section you think is interesting. Then put it out of sight, and write what you think it said/ meant and then add (Smith, 2009) at the end. This will help you avoid using someone else's words as your own becuase that is all that you see.
